Development goals for children

Development goals for children

Children learn basic competences such as speaking, walking and independence at their day care centre. This is where foundation is laid for life-long skills. In addition to these basic competencies, we wish to achieve the following goals through our joint work:

  • Thoughtfulness
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Conflict management
  • Creativity

We also focus on development objective

  • Participation

Democratic capacity is an important component of identity development. The abilities that children need today to be able to move competently and independently in their living worlds have changed. Competencies in decision-making, active contribution and ability to take on responsibilities have become increasingly important.

This is why active participation is an essential component for us. At Kita Regenbogen, we practice the following:

  • Freedom in the choice of games
  • Freedom in the choice of alternative activities
  • Freedom in regards to naptime/break time
  • Freedom in regards to food (portions and choice)
  • Democratic votes among participants
  • Undertaking responsibilities such as participation in collecting lunch or Zvieri from the kitchen to the dining area.

As a result of their participation and active involvement, they learn that they are capable of doing things. This gives them the opportunity to grow into discerning and responsible citizens who are not afraid to get involved. In addition, we would like to provide to have a wide range of educational experiences at the Kita Regenbogen.
