<\/a>In April 2024, we asked the parents of the Rainbow Kita for detailed feedback on all facets of our work. 41 families took part, which corresponds to a response rate of approximately 40%.<\/p>\nWe are very pleased with the result and would like to thank all participating parents for the overwhelming praise, but also for critical feedback and constructive comments, which help us to focus our quality management on the right areas.<\/p>\n

“A happy Mum” ( July 2017)<\/h2>\n
It was sheer luck that I discovered the lovely Kita Regenbogen! I had just moved to Zurich with my family from Australia and we happened to pass by it on its Open House day. \u00a0My level of German was still pretty limited back then and with zero family support nearby, I had to figure out \u201cbaby and family things in Zurich\u201d rather quickly on our own.<\/p>\n
That day, I got to know one of the Kita\u2019s group leaders, who was able to communicate in English sufficiently. \u00a0He directed me to the principal and director of the Kita, Markus. To my relief, he spoke fluent English and this became the basis of our trust in this non-English speaking day care in Zurich: that I could talk to someone in charge without bringing in a translator. Markus was very good and patient at answering my endless questions; some as a worried first-time mother and some were definitely related to getting to know how things operate in Switzerland and our cultural differences. I had genuine concerns about enrolling my child into an only German-speaking day care but decided after visiting and reviewing the site, that there was no other day care I\u2019d rather enrol my baby at.<\/p>\n
I was taking German classes and I used the opportunity to speak to my daughter\u2019s Kita group leaders and assistants to practice the language. What\u2019s funny is that some of them ended up giving a crash course in Swiss German instead. In \u00a0my German class, you would not be learning words such as \u201cwickler\u201d, \u201cnuggi\u201d, \u201ckaki gemacht\u201d or the unique Swiss German grammar. It took a long time but I was able to get the hang of it, though nowhere fluent. I would say to my Swiss friends that the only Swiss German I know were what the Kita has taught me. Which doesn\u2019t mean much for adult conversations. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
Remember the group leader I mentioned on Open House Day? He ended up being one of my daughter\u2019s group leaders for 2.5 years! He and his team were efficient, lovely and caring people. We were so grateful and appreciated the fact that they were the ones who were taking care of our child. If there was an issue, we were able to address them appropriately and they took them seriously. They were also patient and consistent at encouraging my daughter to speak German. She definitely learnt it from day care \u2013 our household language has always been English and if it weren\u2019t for the Kita, my daughter would never have been exposed to Swiss German.<\/p>\n
If there\u2019s any advice I could offer new expats to Zurich when it comes to enrolling their children in a non-English speaking local Swiss day care, is to communicate as clear as possible with the principal and team leaders. Discuss every safety concern, cultural expectations\/differences and don\u2019t be afraid to ask questions. I think I must have asked Markus a million questions and this was way before the English website was available!<\/p>\n
It would take some time to establish trust but overall we had an excellent experience at Kita Regenbogen. In the beginning, if you were used to signing consent forms for class excursions, you might be surprised that at the Kita they might take out the kids after lunch for an excursion without giving you a prior notice. They could be going to the zoo, museum, airport playground etc. with the tram or train. This used to be shocking for me but after awhile I saw how careful they were with the kids and have even ran into a group of them coming back from a trip to the lake when we happened to be on the same tram back to Kreis 5.<\/p>\n
I\u2019d have to say that at the upper managerial level, things must have been done right. It would not have been possible to have such a happy yet orderly Kita like Kita Regenbogen without the hands-on management of the daycare\u2019s directors. They deserve their QualiKita seal of approval and I wish them all the best always.<\/p>\n

Die Grosseltern sagen “Danke” (16.12.2016)<\/h2>\n
Als Grosseltern m\u00f6chten wir uns einmal sehr herzlich f\u00fcr die liebevolle Betreuung unseres kleinen Herzk\u00e4fers bedanken.<\/p>\n
Seit etwas mehr als zwei Jahren verfolgen wir mit grossem Interesse, wie sich unser Enkel entwickelt, welches seine Gschp\u00e4nli sind, was er erlebt, wie sein Tag aussieht, was er isst und was ihn interessiert. Wir sind begeistert, wie gut die ganze Betreuung funktioniert. Ich durfte unseren Enkel hin und wieder abholen und habe jedes Mal gestaunt, wie zufrieden die Kinder sind. Auch der kleine Rapport am Abend ist sehr aufschlussreich.<\/p>\n
Die verschiedenen M\u00f6glichkeiten, welche die Kinder mit den Bereichen Ern\u00e4hrung, Bauen\/ Werken, Basteln, Musik und Bewegung haben, ist sensationell. Wir gratulieren Ihnen herzlich zu dieser grossartigen Organisation. Eine Mutter zu Hause k\u00f6nnte ihren Kindern diese Vielfalt nie bieten.<\/p>\n
Wir danken Ihnen auch im Namen unserer Tochter f\u00fcr die Geborgenheit und die Sicherheit, die der Kleine in der KITA Regenbogen erlebt und im Namen unseres Enkels f\u00fcr den Adventskalender, welchen er mit nach Hause nehmen durfte.<\/p>\n
Wir w\u00fcnschen Ihnen allen frohe Weihnachten, einen guten Rutsch in ein gesundes, gl\u00fcckliches neues Jahr 2017 und weiterhin viel Freude bei Ihrer anspruchsvollen Aufgabe.<\/p>\n
Ein grosses Lob von der Oma (14.01.2010):<\/h2>\n
Bereits ist es eine Woche her, seit ich meine Enkelin Julia* bei Ihnen in der Kita abholen durfte. Ich danke Ihnen nachtr\u00e4glich nochmals ganz herzlich f\u00fcr Ihren freundlichen Empfang und ihre Hilfe beim \u201eReise fertig machen\u201c von Julia. Es war f\u00fcr mich sehr sch\u00f6n, bei dieser Gelegenheit wieder einmal pers\u00f6nlich miterleben zu k\u00f6nnen, wie sich Julia in der Krippe wohl und \u201ezu Hause\u201c f\u00fchlt.<\/p>\n
Julia hat bereits auf dem Weg von der Kita zur Tram Haltestelle und dann w\u00e4hrend der ganzen Reise ins Emmental munter geplaudert, alles genauestens beobachtet und nat\u00fcrlich viel gefragt.<\/p>\n
Umso mehr freute ich mich, dass ich trotz r\u00e4umlicher Distanz, via Homepage\/Online-Tagebuch, bereits am Montag wieder ein wenig Gast in der Kita sein durfte, wobei ich auch den Eintrag von Freitagvormittag (Sie haben mir ja erz\u00e4hlt, dass sich Julia am Vormittag im Bewegungsraum vergn\u00fcgt hatte) gelesen und auf den Fotos Julia entdeckt habe. Auf diese Weise bekomme ich indirekt immer wieder ein wenig etwas davon mit, was unser Grosskind erlebt und besch\u00e4ftigt. Vielen herzlichen Dank f\u00fcr alles, was Sie und Ihre KollegInnen f\u00fcr Julia und all die andern Kinder tun. Ihr Engagement f\u00fcr die Kinder ist von unsch\u00e4tzbarem Wert!<\/p>\n
