Our Outlook On Children
Kita Regenbogen and their educators have a positive outlook of children. Our mission statement is based on Violet Oaklander:
Children are our best teachers:
They already know how to grow,
develop and discover
what is good and bad for oneself
and what their needs are.
They already know how to love and be joyful,
to live life, how to work, to be strong and full of energies.
Everything. What they need is the necessary space for it.
Every child, including babies, is understood as an active being who from birth deals with his/her social and representational environment and determines his/her own development. They have a desire to discover their environment and interact with it.
The most important basis of a child is his/her inquisitiveness. While it varies according to their age, children’s curiosity is directed at different aspects of their environment. This curiosity provides them with the necessary readiness to learn, with which their development in the childcare centre can be supported.
